Pictos: Icons & Font for User Interface Designers
Pictos icon and font is project created by designer Drew Wilson whose name is familiar to those who used the Screeny app for the Mac, which is a screen recording app for the Mac. Drew is also popular for his famous icons, and typeface (font) called Pictos used by popular brands like Skype, Adobe, Microsoft, Dropbox, and many other brands. Pictos contains their icon set and font, which now has the option for Pictos Server.
Details on Pictos Typeface & Icons
Pictos icons were released in 3 sets containing different high quality icons in each set, which are available in either each set alone (Pictos 1, 2, and 3) or you can by the complete set containing all the icons, and the Pictos typeface.
I love these icons, and especially the Pictos typeface makes it perfect for web apps who want to help improve load times by using less images to create sexy light weight navigation, user interface, and buttons.
You can also check out Pictus server, which was recently released to help developers use Pictuos icons as a typeface, create custom icons, and more. Pictos server acts like how Typekit (recently acquired by Adobe) works, which you simply use the Pictos code in your HTML, and your done. You can style the icons as you wish using CSS as easy as you will style text using CSS.
Pictos is by some of the top companies in the world ranging from the tech industry to retail. We are familiar with most of not all the companies listed here and with this lightweight icons and font for your web application(s.)
